Cloud Ventures Version 1.00 – Pioneering Cloud Innovation in Canada

From a recent standing start we have now advanced the Cloud Ventures Group (CVG) to a first basic level of maturity. This defines our business model and first set of Cloud technology innovations, into a Powerpoint elevator pitch.

With this framework in place our next main step is to reach out to a global network of partners, and grow the program further in collaboration with consultants, vendors and other partners.

Secure Cloud Outsourcing

The purpose of the CVG is to fast-track new Cloud ventures, and we’ve gunned straight for what we think is the most important issue to Cloud, the concerns of data privacy holding up its widespread adoption.

Core to this first version is IP for the new ‘SMDP’ protocol and VM Aware suite. In a nutshell this engineers a ‘secure channel’ in between the corporate data-centre and remote service provider to facilitate Hybrid Cloud based outsourcing. Telcos and web hosting providers will be able to offer key clients “burstable” Cloud IaaS, like compliant storage for MS Exchange and Sharepoint.

As well as offering an investment opportunity for these technologies the other main purpose of the CVG is a keen sales focus too, and we’ll be driving various business development campaigns to this end, with a vertical focus of Government first, and starting in Canada.

With this in mind there is great opportunity for consulting partners too. The key to adoption of these services is that they required considerabe client-side hand-holding, and are ‘approved’ for Government adoption. Both can be achieved by leveraging best practices such as the Federated PIA.
