D.A. Davidson & Co., an employee-owned, full-service investment firm based in the Northwest, today announced that new software analyst Jack Andrews has activated coverage on 7 publicly traded software companies. Andrews joined D.A. Davidson’s technology research team in March. He works from the firm’s Portland office and reports directly to John Rogers, head of institutional research for D.A. Davidson.
“Jack’s software industry knowledge and his record of fundamental analytic skills make him the ideal person for this position,” Rogers said. “We’re pleased to have Jack join D.A. Davidson’s technology research team to increase our software coverage and provide valuable research to our institutional clients.”
Andrews has initiated coverage on Concur Technologies (CNQR), Cornerstone OnDemand (CSOD), Marketo (MKTO), NetSuite (N), ServiceNow (NOW), Oracle (ORCL) and Workday (WDAY).
Andrews joins Davidson with extensive experience in the technology sector, most recently as the co-founder and co-portfolio manager of Inflection Partners, a long/short equity market neutral hedge fund focused on technology. He previously covered I.T. services companies for JP Morgan, where he spearheaded the firm’s research efforts surrounding emerging investment themes in software and technology services and published white papers pioneering the concepts of software-as-a-service (SaaS) and business process outsourcing. Andrews launched his research career at Citigroup, where he followed the computer services sector. Previously, Jack worked in software development and fixed income for Credit Suisse First Boston. He received his MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and graduated from Carnegie Mellon University with three bachelor’s degrees.
Andrews joins an award-winning institutional team of 14 analysts at D.A. Davidson who cover more than 240 public companies, with a focus on several key sectors. The firm’s research is supported by professional sales and trading, including market making.
